CLIENT: WOOLWORTHS (WOOLIESX)
FEB.2017 – SEPT.2018
Scan&Go is a new way to shop at Woolworths, where customers scan and pay for items on their phone and avoid traditional checkouts.
joining the project
I began on the Scan&Go project early in its ideation phase, when a number of general business goals had already been established:
Capitalise on global trends for ‘just-walk-out’-style shopping, and be a differentiator in the Australian grocery space
Increase basket size and customer throughput in Woolworths stores
Bridge the gap between current in-store and online shopping experiences
My Role
As the UX Designer on the project, I performed a number of roles:
Ideation phase: establishing potential features of experience and distilling them into an MVP
Contact person for Customer Experience
User research at each stage of the project, from establishing user goals through to usability testing and future-state feature prioritisation
Establishing UI framework to complement existing Woolworths app, while focusing on unique UX requirements of a new shopping experience
Journey mapping customer experience in tandem with hardware requirements
